Defining the role of a Software Architect is as difficult as defining the architecture itself.

Architect plays first vital role to define the blueprint of the all the ideas to make it real.

Instead of defining the role lets look at the expectations which broadly fall into seven areas:

  1. Define initial solution architecture and continually analyze to refine
  2. Keep current with latest trends
  3. Ensure compliance with business and financial decisions
  4. Bring diverse views and experiences to critic the architecture
  5. Educate with business domain knowledge to customize
  6. Possess interpersonal skills to work with multiple stakeholders
  7. Understand and navigate through organizational politics, technical biases and product limitations

Success of Software Architect depends upon continuous learning and practicing each and every expectation stated above.
