Art of Learning
Every learning has to go through four stages to achieve the command and confidence on the subject. This concept is shared from the exceptional work of Sri.Vishwanatha Satyanarayna in his book Veyipadagalu
Step 1 – Self study the subject thoroughly to gain the understanding, insights and build the foundation on the concepts. Just reading a single reference or few books is not enough, one has to make effort to internalize and reflect on it.
Step 2 – Teaching what you learnt will help get the others perspectives and also some new references to enhance the learning. Most recommended habit for students is to share knowledge and teach the learning which will also register in the memory.
Step 3 – Self implement the learnings, the most important step to validate the concepts and gain the deeper understanding. First practice before preaching.
Step 4 – Enable others to implement which basically starts the journey towards the individual and team success.
This concept is shared in Indian study system designed hundreds of year back and recently refreshed in my mind in the exceptional literary works of Sri. Vishwanatha Satyanarayan in his award winning Book “Veyipadagalu” i.e. 1000 Hoods
Sri. Vishwanath Satyanarayana has taken the Telugu literature by storm with his exceptional works and won numerous awards.
In the recent times, this is one of the best books I read. This was written in 1934, but the projection of changing society, transformation of lives, modernization, globalization and its evolution in shaping the people lives and its implication on the prevailing culture is well beyond its times.
His works has been translated to many languages. In the recent 125th Birth anniversary of this eminent author, our eminent speaker and Vice President Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu spoke at length.
In fact it is even more intriguing to know that this book was written within 29 days in exactly 999 pages.
I request all the youngsters to get a copy and enjoy reading this book to discover the richness and imagination of human genius. I came to know this is now translated into English as well, titled “1000 Hoods“.
Happy Reading, Happy Learning!
